Col Rebecca N. Rudy is the Deputy Commander of the 121st Air Refueling Wing, Ohio Air National Guard, located at Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base, Ohio. As Deputy Commander, she assists the wing commander responsible for operations, training, and equipping of more than 1,300 personnel and 12 KC-135R aircraft as the Wing supports strategic deterrence and conventional air refueling, passenger and cargo transport, engineering, communications, security, sustainment, logistics, weather, and other combat support missions around the globe.
Col Rudy enlisted in the Ohio Air National Guard in December 1997 as an Information Manager for the 178th Operations Support Squadron. Col Rudy received her commission from the Academy of Military Science in September 2002. In 2005, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College and in 2008, she received her Master of Business Administration and Management from Franklin University. In 2005, she became the Detachment Officer-In-Charge of establishing new intelligence missions for the 178th Fighter Wing and later, became the Director of Operations and the Commander of the 124th Intelligence Squadron. In 2023, she completed a tour as the Deputy Director for Intelligence for the National Guard Bureau Space Operations Directorate, where she was also dual-hatted as the Chief, National Guard Bureau, Special Access Program Control Officer. Following this, she was the Deputy Chief, Sensitive Activities Office, at the National Guard Bureau, Arlington, Virginia. In addition to these assignments, she supported Hurricane Katrina, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. Prior to her current position, the Colonel was the Director of Staff for Air, Joint Force Headquarters, Beightler Armory, Columbus, Ohio.
